Do you meditate?

Meditation is a way to transform the mind by training and engaging in mental exercise such as focusing on your breath or a mantra, to create self awareness. It is not about becoming a better person. It’s been proven with science that ⁣meditation actually grows the grey matter of the brain. That grey matter and is responsible for mental focus and emotional integration. ⁣Okay, I’m sold.
Now, how to start?

Some guidance from @christianheals :
.
🧘🏻‍♀️When you first start sitting It’s OK to begin with 60 seconds. Set your timer, sit still and focus on your breath for 1 minute. Meditation is no different from any other good habit or behavior in that it takes practice. Each day try to add 1 minute to your meditation until you reach 20 minutes.⁣ There is no such thing as perfect. You have to start somewhere.
.
🧘🏻‍♀️If you’re having a day where you just can’t get yourself to sit for a long time, at least go over to where you normally meditate and sit there; even for 10 seconds. This will train your brain to create the habit every day even if you don’t stay long.
.
🧘🏻‍♀️It takes a lot of steps to get good at anything and whether you want to start a new practice or refresh your current one, take a step with me and @christianheals and come retreat in Hawaii in February 2020. Link in bio. ⁣

  1. how do you get your mind to slow down enough to meditate ?

    1. Hi! That is such a great question, and asked and felt by many. You are not alone. Meditation will definitely help you start to slow it down. Start small. Put 30 seconds on a timer, sit or lay somewhere comfortable. Close your eyes. Focus on the area right in between your eyebrows or on your nose. Feel your inhales and your exhales. No doubt, your mind will wander to anything other than slowing the F down. When that happens, notice it, acknowledge it, and then go back to your inhale and you’re exhale. I give my mind a “job”. When I find my mind wander, I think “I inhale” and take a long, slow, steady deep breath. “I exhale” and let it out at the same long, slow, steady pace.

      1. thanks so much ill try that tonight. ive recently got into chakras and meditation and this advice helps a bunch.
