Traditional Chinese Medicine Body Clock

The Traditional Chinese Medicine (#TCM) Clock –

The clock indicates a 2 hour window in each 24-hour cycle in which each meridian/organ is at it’s peak time/cycle.

This is a helpful diagnostic tool in pinpointing any inefficiencies/deficiencies as well as overactive meridian function and get you on your road to wellness. For example, if there is a pattern of being insanely tired between the hours of 5-7pm, there is a high likelihood that there is something going on with your kidney meridian function (I speak from experience, this sucks). If you wake up consistently between the hours of 1-3am, there is a good chance you have a liver imbalance.

There are different foods you can eat, activities you can do or avoid during these times. IE – Like drink tea 🍵 between the hours of 3-5p if you feel tired. This is peak bladder function time.

It all makes sense when you look at it. For example:

Large Intestine peak function is 5-7am and has to do with elimination. This is when most of us wake up and usually the first activity of the day revolves around just that (🚽). This is why it’s also beneficial to start each day with warm water. Add lemon 🍋 for added benefit.

Stomach peak function is 7-9am. This is normally when we are eating breakfast and take any vitamins or probiotics.
